In this Jail, prisoners get vocational studies training that they can pursue as a career after completing their sentence. Tourists can visit this Jail from Monday to Friday between 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.
2. Aguada Jail
Aguada jail is a jail in Goa. This jail is a part of Aguada Fort, which is near the Mandovi River in North Goa. Many freedom fighters likeRam Manohar, TB Cunha, etc., have spent time during Portuguese rule in Goa in this Jail.
3. Yerwadad Jail
Yerwada jail is situated in Pune. This Jail was built in 1871 by the British, and it covers an area of almost 512 acres. This Jail is the largest Jail in South Asia, and it has a capacity of more than 5000 prisoners.
Yerwada Jail is an important part of the Indian freedom struggle because many freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, and Netaji Subhas Bose, Sarojini Naidu, etc. have spent many days in this Jail. The Jail is separated into different zones, and four steep walls guard it against all sides. For more dangerous prisoners, it also has an egg-shaped cell.
4. Cellular Jail
Cellular Jail is a Jail in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. This Jail is also famous as Kaala Paani. In this, many great freedom fighters like Batukeshwar Dutt, Veer Savarkar, etc., have spent time there. This Jail has recently started a light and sound show to show the freedom struggle of India. You can visit this Jail from Monday to Friday between 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
